SALARY: £47,776 to £48,935

HOURS: 36 hours

Palliative and end of life work has never been more needed than now. St Christopher’s has a large and dynamic team of social workers, bereavement counsellors, welfare rights workers and cognitive bereavement therapists. We want to further open up our support to the diverse communities within the 5 south London boroughs we serve. We are now looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to help manage and support the teams involved in the delivery of psychosocial and welfare services. We provide support to people at home, attending outpatients or admitted to the inpatient unit. You will deputise for the head of the service, and contribute to the team’s development at strategic and operational levels.

Your new role will be responsible for leading and managing the activities of social work, welfare rights, adult and child bereavement and CBT on a day to day basis.

To succeed in this role you will need demonstrable proven social work, bereavement or psycho-social service support. You will bring both clinical and radical approaches to our work and be able and willing to take on a high profile role. A commitment to the education of the public, colleagues and outside agencies is essential. We have a strong learning and coaching culture so experience of supporting and mentoring students is required.
