A big thank you to our corporate supporters this Christmas time
A message from fundraiser, Leo Thon
Moonlight Walk Success
A massive thank you to the companies and businesses that supported and assisted our Moonlight Walk. A special thank you to the following: Cannon Cars, First Group, Sainsbury’s, South London Press & Mercury, Bromley Borough News and Skanska.
We raised over £14,000 with over 200 walkers! From helping us from promotion right through to setting up on the night: thank you.
Lloyds Commercial Banking Super-Volunteers
Lloyds have astounded St Christopher’s with their incredible generosity in giving us over 50 man-days of volunteering; with three more helping us hand out leaflets for our Christmas Market. Having set the bar in April with Shop Wars, competing against each other and the Lloyds East Dulwich branch in 10 of our shops, Lloyds Bank has been a fantastic supporter of St Christopher’s in 2016. Thank you.
Welcome In2 Papadam
We would like to welcome In2 Papadam to the St Christopher’s fold, who have supported us by very generously organising a charity night, donating 25% of profits to St Christopher’s. This was an enormous success, raising £600 for the hospice! And if that wasn’t enough they sponsored our Christmas Market in Orpington on Saturday 26 November, which went on to raise over £8,000. Thank you.
Shop Wars 2016 Comes to a Close
Legal and General Group’s Shop Wars in October signalled the closing of the Shop Wars season for 2016. They did fantastically well, making an overall 56% increase with total sales and fundraising, a fitting end to a brilliant season. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you that’s taken part this year; we’ve seen the most shops taken over with wonderful costumes and ingenious creativity; thank you and I look forward to welcoming both new and veteran competitors next spring!
Moonlight Walk 2016 supported by Sainsbury’s
Following our Local Charity of the Year partnerships with several stores within the local area we received a donation from Sainsbury’s funded by the carrier bag levy.
We were delighted to receive this donation which we are now using to help support our Moonlight Walk this year.
We’d like to say a big thank you to each of the stores we worked with over the past year and we look forward to working with Sainsbury’s in the future.
Can your business help us promote the event on your website? We’ll send you over everything you need. Or perhaps you could distribute flyers in and around your office?
We also need marshals for our Hospice loop (a 3.5 mile family-friendly route taking you all round Crystal Palace Park) and Point-to-Pint route (a 4 mile over-21s route finishing at Westow House pub in Crystal Palace so you can treat yourself to a well deserved drink!).
Or why not Register a team and get the competition going in your office. The team that raises the most wins!
St Christopher’s Shop Wars
St Christopher’s Shop Wars came to our local high streets in September and October
We had teams from Direct Line, Bank of America, Nationwide and Marks & Spencer Bromley who took over our shops for the day and battled against opposing teams to raise the most money on the day.
Thanks to some inventive tactics from fancy dress, cake sales, raffles and even a live window display these incredible companies helped raise over £13,000 with more to come in matched giving.
If your organisation would like to get involved in 2016 do get in touch. We would be happy to help organise a bespoke event for teams of 16 or more, or you can register your team to take part in our next open Shop Wars for any team or company.
