Library and Bookshop FAQs

What is in the library?

It has books, journals, pamphlets and links to websites on all aspects of palliative care, death, dying and bereavement.  It also contains material by and about Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of the hospice. The library database contains more than 14,000 items and contains a comprehensive yet focused collection.   It is mainly for health professionals but has some material that could be useful to patients, carers or bereaved people.  Anyone who is not a staff member or volunteer can contact  the librarian (LINK HERE) to discuss whether it is possible to make an appointment to visit the library or whether material can be sent to you by email or post.

What is in the bookshop?

The bookshop has about 200 items that are mainly core books and articles on palliative care.  This includes a section on bereavement, books for children and books for people interested in discussing issues around death and dying. See link below  for details of items in the bookshop.

When are the bookshop and library open?
