expert palliative care for the dying
Meet one of our benefactors
Carl Roche's story
a St Christopher's volunteer and Benefactor
Carl became involved with St Christopher's Hospice when his mother died in our care in 1982. Later he decided he wanted to show his gratitude for the high quality of care that his mother received by joining the St Christopher's fundraising team as a volunteer.
In 1989 Carl retired from his work in a bank and was pleased to be able to give even more time to St Christopher's - helping out at events such as our Fun Walk, and working in the hospice serving refreshments to hospice patients and visitors and at St Christopher's memorial services.
After more than 20 years of being involved with St Christopher's, he has seen what we have achieved and knows how special we are to the community and the family and friends of patients.
Carl has now pledged a gift to the hospice in his Will. "By leaving St Christopher's a gift in your Will you enable the hospice to plan for the future”.
It is always a great pleasure to work with such dedicated supporters and volunteers. Without people like Carl, St Christopher's would not be able to provide the vital, high quality service that it does today, and without legacy gifts the hospice simply could not survive.
So, thank you Carl - for over 20 years of dedication, support and giving.
