Public Education
An opportunity to learn more about end of life care
To encourage a wider understanding of illness, death, dying and loss and services available, we are opening our doors wider to offer education to the general public, potential service users and carers and anyone who is interested in end of life care.
The End of Life Care Strategy (2008) and the work of the new “Dying Matters Coalition” encourages us to pursue actively a health promotion agenda. This is offered in a number of ways at St Christopher's Hospice which include
- Schools Projects with primary and secondary age children and young people working with patients in the hospice and residents in care homes
- Cicely Saunders series of concerts offering members of the community the opportunity to enjoy music from celebrated musicians and ‘step into' the hospice
