As always, St Christopher’s is committed to changing people’s perceptions of death and dying. During Dying Matters Week, St Christopher’s continues its engagement with the general public with its successful ‘Social Programme’.

St Christopher’s has a growing network of schools supporting us and raising awareness of our work and we’d love even more to join in.

We could welcome your school for a hospice tour so that young people can see that St Christopher’s is not a scary place, but full of life and vitality. Or we could speak at your assembly and share some fundraising ideas.

King’s College London chose St Christopher’s to benefit from their RAG week and their fundraising Fashion and Diwali shows. Also, volunteers from Rutland Hall, Nottingham University support us each year with bucket collections and at events.

St Christopher's opens its gardens to the public

11am - 2pm Saturday 5 May

The 2012 Open Gardens Festival begins on Saturday 5 May with the hospice's own gardens in Lawrie Park Road opening once again to the public. Entrance is by suggested donation of £2 and free parking is available in surrounding roads. Stalls include cakes, refreshments, food, fresh produce, jewellery, gifts, cards, ceramics, live music and much much more!...

Namaste - caring for people with end stage dementia

St Christopher's has recently begun an action evaluation study in conjunction with six local care homes into the application of Namaste, a scheme of intensive sensory stimulation for people with advanced dementia. The project is the first of its kind in the UK and it promises to shed light on how quality of life for people with end stage dementia can be significantly improved.

Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee At St Christopher’s on Sunday 3 June

Our Diamond Jubilee celebrations are for patients, carers, families, staff, volunteers and members of the general public.

At 11am there will be a service to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in the Pilgrim Room and from 12:30pm you are invited to join in the nation's Big Lunch.

There will be champagne and canapes on arrival, roast beef Roast Beef with all the trimmings...
