Runners wanted
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to finish a race… heart pounding, body aching, adrenalin rushing, people cheering...
St Christopher’s Hospice has places in all the major central London runs this year and is already taking registrations to fill them. We are looking for people who want a challenge, are looking to get active and most importantly want to support their local hospice by raising funds and awareness.
We have runs for all types of supporters.
Why not try the Super Hero 5k (May) if you’re new to running, it’s a great one for the kids too as over eights can take part and all participants get a choice of super hero costume to wear on the day!!
Looking for a bit more of a challenge… try the 10ks
Bupa London 10,000 10k (May) - this hugely popular run starts in beautiful Hyde Park and takes you through a central London route. Chip timing is included and the course is part of the 2012 Olympic Marathon route - places are going fast!
British 10k (July) - this race is just 19 days before the start of the Olympics and takes in many of the famous sights of the Olympic Marathon route. Chip timing, SMS text of your finish time and an official photograph are all included as well as Heather Small starting you all off by singing ‘Proud’ at the start ceremony on Piccadilly!
Need more of a challenge?
Run to the Beat powered by Nike + half marathon (October), is the ultimate way to finish the summer running season! This is a foot pounding, incredibly sweaty 13.1 miles, starting at the O2 and taking you on a music-filled route through Greenwich and South East London. It typically has 14 stages of live music to get you through, with artists and DJs announced nearer to the day. Places go fast!
Or take on a mince-pie-busting Santa 5k Run in December – more info will be coming nearer the time.
Maybe you are taking on the epic challenge of running the Virgin London Marathon in this Olympic year? If you have your own place and would like to run for St Christopher’s, we would love to hear from you. We offer lots of benefits to those on our team, including a St Christopher’s running vest and much deserved post-race reception after you’ve wowed the Marathon crowds and crossed the finish line! If you don’t have a place this year you can get in touch for more information on running in 2013, or about helping us to cheer on our brave St Christopher’s runners on the day!
