Most people want the independence and would prefer to stay living in the comfort and security of their own homes whenever they can.
St Christopher's at Home nurses work alongside the patient's GP offering symptom control advice and helping patients and families to adjust to their situation. Out of working hours, nurses are on call for advice and support to patients, families and healthcare professionals.
It is also possible for patients to be visited during the evening or night hours to make sure that the best help is available at the right time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This service makes it possible to bring freedom from anxiety to patients and their families with the knowledge that St Christopher's is always there to help when needed.
The service is staffed by skilled respite nurses, doctors, volunteers and a social worker for each of areas we cover; Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark, as well as a nurse manager and three secretaries.
St Christopher’s at Home cares for over 600 patients at any one time, in the comfort and security of their the patients'' own homes. Our nurses aim to bring freedom from anxiety to patients and their families by being there to help when needed.
The full range of St Christopher’s services is available to home care patients.
