On 11 June the London Welsh Male Voice Choir with Beckenham soloists will be performing in St George’s Church, Beckenham. The performance is in aid of St Christopher’s and The Chartwell Cancer Trust, with a bucket collection to raise money for both charities.
The evening will be a great opportunity to hear talented local musicians perform with the choir, as it features Matthew Jones on violin and Annabel Thwaite on piano. The event is part of The Arts at St George’s Beckenham, an arts programme that runs the year round, with a festival taking place each summer.
Sarah Rutherford, a fundraiser at St Christopher’s says: “We’re thrilled that the London Welsh Male Voice Choir is going to be in Beckenham supporting St Christopher’s. It will be a great night and we’re very grateful for St George’s ongoing support.”
The local community is very much at the heart of the arts programme as Richard Fielder, Festival Director and Operations Manager, tells us: “It’s a way to use St George’s as a building for the benefit of the whole community.”
“Any money that is raised through the arts project goes back into running more arts events for the community, some of which are held for charity.”
