St Christopher’s Will Week from 20 – 24 March 2017 is the perfect opportunity to achieve some peace of mind by putting your financial affairs in order. During St Christopher’s Will Week, five local law firms will generously waive their fee for their Will-writing services, in return for a one-off gift to support the work of the hospice of £150 (for a simple Will) or £200 (for a pair of simple mirror Wills).
It can be difficult to think and talk about dying, but writing a Will and making your wishes known can help you to support those you care about after your death, and avoid leaving them with unnecessary stress and financial matters to deal with.
Bromley mum of two, Jess Milton, 36, comments, “Making a Will has always seemed something we’d do when we’re much older, but now we have children, my husband and I have realised that it’s something that we ought to think about now. It’s important to talk about what you’d want to happen in the future. Plus, I’ve always supported St Christopher’s and this is an easy way to make some provision for the hospice, too.”
Currently, an amazing 27 per cent of the St Christopher’s income comes from legacies. There is no obligation to remember St Christopher’s in your Will, but leaving a gift to St Christopher’s means we can continue to provide our services free of charge to the local community, and making a charity donation in your Will can be very tax efficient.
St Christopher’s needs to fundraise £14 million each year to continue to provide end of life care and family care services free of charge.
To take advantage of St Christopher’s Will Week, contact one of our five local Will Week solicitors quoting ‘St Christopher’s Will Week’ between 20 -24 March 2017 and make an appointment at a mutually convenient later time for your own Will to be drawn up free of charge. Then, instead of paying the solicitor a fee, the solicitors will suggest that you support St Christopher’s with a single gift of £150 for a simple Will and £200 for a pair of simple mirror Wills.
Please see www.stchristophers.org.uk/willweek for further information, or contact Helen Wheeler on 020 8768 4715.
There may be a limited number of appointments available and your Will must be straightforward in nature.
