Empowering Communities: A Glimpse into Our Nursing Outreach

In the heart of Aweil East County, South Sudan, our dedicated team at Your Faith-Based Organization, works tirelessly amidst challenging humanitarian conditions.

For over 18 years, we’ve partnered with non-governmental and faith-based organizations to implement crucial health and nutrition projects. Currently, we focus on serving vulnerable populations such as children under five, pregnant and lactating mothers, and those facing serious illnesses like TB/HIV.

Our community nursing service team extends compassionate care beyond clinic walls, reaching into refugee camps and local communities. We provide essential health services, from managing non-communicable diseases to combating communicable diseases like malaria and cholera. Integrated within primary health care frameworks, our multidisciplinary approach involves doctors, nurses, social workers, and community health workers, ensuring comprehensive support for families in need.

Advocacy is at the core of our mission. We champion palliative care, advocating for cancer patients often forgotten within communities. Every individual deserves dignity and access to essential services, and we strive to make this a reality through our work.

Recently, at a refugee camp, we witnessed firsthand the resilience of children and women who have endured profound hardships. As one child expressed, “We experienced bad things. People died in front of us, and we were scared we might die too.” Our interactions bring not just medical care but also hope and comfort to those who have faced unimaginable traumas. By listening and engaging with these communities, we aim to heal deep wounds and restore smiles to the faces of children and mothers alike.

Through empathy, kindness, and a commitment to individualized care, we continue to make a meaningful impact in Aweil East County. Our efforts are guided by the belief that together, we can empower communities to overcome health challenges and build a brighter future.
