Here at St Christopher’s we are running a new scheme called Coach4Care. Coach4Care is a new service aimed at improving the well-being and resilience of current carers of people with progressive and terminal illnesses.
We are looking for ex-carers who would like to use their valuable experience in a meaningful and rewarding way to train as Coach4Care coaches and support current carers.
Our research has shown that it can be difficult for carers to sustain their energy and resilience whilst caring for a loved one, and they benefit from speaking to others who have been in their shoes and know what it’s like.
That’s why we are offering training to ex-carers who would like to provide coaching support to current carers of patients at St Christopher’s. Ex-carers will be given three days of professional coaching training, and ongoing supervision support by coaching experts.
They will be asked to provide one hour of their time a week to support one or two current carers in a face to face or over the phone session over a minimum of three months.
Training will take place in the Education Centre at St Christopher’s Hospice on:
- Thursday 7, Friday 8 and Friday 15 March (10am-5pm each day)
- Thursday 28 – Saturday 30 March (10am-5pm each day)
If you or anyone you know might be interested in signing up for training, please contact Mary Hodgson, Community Action Lead on 020 8768 4761 or email email@example.com.
