Caring for Carers Workshop
Would you like to meet other people in the same situation, feel more supported and be better prepared?

Join other carers in a safe and nurturing environment where you can share stories, gain practical advice, and find emotional support.
This programme is for unpaid carers who are caring for someone with life limiting conditions or who are at the end of life, to share your experiences, and build confidence and learn new skills as a carer.
Each session is facilitated by trained volunteers and carers who bring invaluable insights and empathy, drawn from their own lived experiences of caring for someone with a life-limiting or life-shortening condition.
This programme is FREE to attend.
These sessions are opportunities to explore the challenges of your caring role in a supportive community, and learn from others.
Sessions involve themed discussions on a specific topic to help you better explore and reflect on different aspects of your caring role.
New Carers Offer
These workshops are for carers at any stage but may be of particular interest to those who have recently become a carer and who feel they would benefit from further information about what they may experience as a carer, including some practical information and advice.
This session will also include information about support networks; what these might look like and how we can utilize our networks and communities to ensure we feel held and supported.
Established Carers Offer
Like our offer for new carers, these workshops are open to all carers. However, those who have been caring for a long period of time may find some of the information in these workshops particularly useful.
By participating, you’ll connect with others who understand your journey, helping to alleviate the sense of isolation that can often accompany the caregiving role.
Dates for our next session will be confirmed by the start of October. To register your interest, please email communityaid@stchristophers.org.uk and ask to be informed when the new dates for the Caring For Carers course have been confirmed and we will email you
These sessions are 1.5 hour facilitated themed discussions where you will reflect on different aspects of caring or loss through group discussions, sharing experiences, activities/exercises.
These sessions are designed to help you consider your own experiences, what you have learned from them, and to encourage learning from the experiences of others.
