Useful information

One day conference at St Christopher's CARE covering latest research and hearing from patients and carers living with MND

The day will combine research presentations and literature in evidence sessions with opportunities to hear from patients and carers about their experiences of living with motor neurone disease (MND).

Key topics that will be explored include:

  • Pyschological Distress in MND
  • The Role of the Carer
  • The latest research in Secretion Management
  • Developments in Tracheostomy Ventilation

These sessions will feature presentations from Dr Cathy Ellis, Dr Emma Hall, Dr Jemeen Sreedharan, Dr Matthew Hotopf, Dr Colin Quinn and David Setters, with more speakers to be announced soon.

We hope to welcome delegates from across the healthcare sector, and to facilitate conversations and rich discussions about the importance of a multidisciplinary multi-disciplinary approach to MND treatment.

If you are passionate about changing the landscape of MND care, and collaborating to create a joined-up approach that centres patients and their family members, please join us for a day of discovery, sharing and opportunity.

More about St Christopher's education

St Christopher’s Education Centre and VAT charges

At St Christopher's, a registered charity, it is important for us to maximise any surpluses to reinvest in the objectives of the charity.

Unfortunately, the manner in which we undertake our training currently means we are not able to invest as much of our surplus as possible, therefore from the 1 December 2017, St Christopher’s Education Centre will charge VAT at the standard rate on our training courses, the reason for this change in pricing is twofold:

i) We want to be able to reinvest any surpluses made from training back into all of our charitable objectives rather than only Education

ii) We want to be able to reclaim the VAT on costs relating to developing and running the training courses
