  • Our webinars

    You will be joining a virtual ‘room’ – you will not see the other participants. You will be able to ask questions through a question and answer chat box which will be monitored throughout the session.

  • What will I learn?

    After this session you will:

    • Be able to recognise when someone may be entering the last days of life
    • Remind yourselves of the principles of Priorities for Care of the dying person
    • Acknowledge to yourselves and families uncertainty
    • Explore how someone dying with or from COVID19 may present
    • Revisit communication with families and colleagues: explaining the key symptoms/signs of dying, be able to address family concerns especially nutrition and hydration
    • Consider care after death and care of bereaved families

Emma Hall Consultant in Palliative Medicine, St Christopher’s

Emma qualified at St George’s Hospital in 1993 and then trained in palliative medicine in London.  She has been a consultant at St Christopher’s since April 2003.  Her special interests are management of Diabetes in palliative care and improving links with primary healthcare teams. She also provides an educational link with GKT medical schools.

More about St Christopher's education

St Christopher’s Education Centre and VAT charges

At St Christopher's, a registered charity, it is important for us to maximise any surpluses to reinvest in the objectives of the charity.

Unfortunately, the manner in which we undertake our training currently means we are not able to invest as much of our surplus as possible, therefore from the 1 December 2017, St Christopher’s Education Centre will charge VAT at the standard rate on our training courses, the reason for this change in pricing is twofold:

i) We want to be able to reinvest any surpluses made from training back into all of our charitable objectives rather than only Education

ii) We want to be able to reclaim the VAT on costs relating to developing and running the training courses
