About the event

Enabling all residents to live fully until they die is the goal of all care home managers. Identifying the best way to achieve this is the key to success.

Helena Talbot-Rice, our Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Consultant Lead, will lead the meeting on Thursday 3 December and share her winning formula – Rehabilitative Palliative Care.

For those unfamiliar with the approach, it involves a holistic approach designed to help resident be the best they can, in line with their wishes.

Join us for this meeting to learn:

  • The fundamentals of rehabilitative palliative care
  • What rehabilitative palliative care can mean for you and your residents
  • How it can transform the lives of your residents
  • How by introducing the model as early possible can help residents achieve their goals
  • Understand the role of activity and exercise and hear compelling case studies including 94-year-old Harry

Helena says: “It will change how you think about approaching the end of life for your residents and change the lives of your residents.”

Don’t miss this special, one-off session.

More about St Christopher's education

St Christopher’s Education Centre and VAT charges

At St Christopher's, a registered charity, it is important for us to maximise any surpluses to reinvest in the objectives of the charity.

Unfortunately, the manner in which we undertake our training currently means we are not able to invest as much of our surplus as possible, therefore from the 1 December 2017, St Christopher’s Education Centre will charge VAT at the standard rate on our training courses, the reason for this change in pricing is twofold:

i) We want to be able to reinvest any surpluses made from training back into all of our charitable objectives rather than only Education

ii) We want to be able to reclaim the VAT on costs relating to developing and running the training courses
