Nicholas pursues a busy career as a conductor, assistant conductor, pianist and accompanist. Nicholas works as a freelance repetiteur or assistant conductor at the Royal Opera House, Hallé, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Opera Rara and elsewhere, and he is a regular member of the music staff at English National Opera. He was repetiteur for Sir Simon Rattle on the Aix/Salzburg Ringcycle with the Berlin Philharmoniker. He is founder and conductor of the Tamino Orchestra.
Tonight he is joined by bass baritone Julian Empett a Lay Vicar at Westminster Abbey and much in demand as an oratorio soloist and consort singer. They present a varied recital of song, which includes the first performance of one of Nicholas’s compositions.
