Remembering together

Every Thursday

Currently, many of the familiar traditions and rituals shared by families and friends of a person who has died are not possible. Yet we all need ways in which we can remember a person we love who has died, perhaps by reflecting on their life, lighting a candle as a sign of hope, saying a prayer or, talking about the deceased person in phone or video calls.

Over the coming weeks, we are offering you the opportunity to remember your family member or friend in a short reflective act which we will hold in the Pilgrim Room at St Christopher’s. This will be live streamed via Zoom. The focus of this 10 minute event will be the reading of names of those who have died and lighting a Candle for Remembrance. The candle will remain alight in the Pilgrim Room as a sign of the shared act of recollection.

  • You can take part in this act of remembrance by completing the short form below. We will ask you give the name of the person to be remembered and your email address. Please fill out the form by midday on Wednesday to be included in our remembrance event the following day.

We will then send you an email with a link to join the live stream. If you wish to share this link with your family and friends please do.

    • We will only contact you regarding this remembrance event (unless you have previously explicitly opted in to receive communications from us).
  • Light a candle and remember

You may also wish to take part in the national ‘Shine a Light’ weekly event. At 9pm every Saturday evening, the nation will light a torch, candle or fairy lights in their doorways or windows to remember all of those who are sick or have lost their lives to Covid-19 and their loved ones.
