At St Christopher’s we’re often told by patients, families, friends and volunteers that the hospice is not at all what they imagined. They expect somewhere dark, gloomy and slightly depressing. After all, St Christopher’s is a place where people come to die, right?
Wrong. Or at least that’s not the full picture. While we do care for people with life limiting illnesses, St Christopher’s is a place to come to live life to the full. As anyone who has visited the hospice will be able to tell you, St Christopher’s is a light, spacious, vibrant place full of people who are quick to smile and even quicker to laugh.
In an attempt to dispel the myth of the depressing hospice once and for all, we’ve produced a short video showing you what it’s really like at St Christopher’s. During the following two and a half minutes you’ll be introduced to different areas around the hospice and hear from some of the people who make the most of those spaces.
