Visitors are welcome any day of the week between 8am and 8pm (and outside these hours by arrangement).
St Christopher’s CARE
The Centre for Awareness and Response to End of Life (CARE) is located next to the main St Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham. It has its own entrance, separate to the hospice, along Lawrie Park Road, opposite a tennis club.
How to get to St Christopher’s: Sydenham Site
Parking
There is limited parking in the hospice grounds, including disabled bays. There is free parking in adjoining residential roads.
There is a drop off and pick up bay directly outside the main entrance.
Buses
- Bus numbers 197 and 176 pass by the hospice
- Bus number 227 stops at the end of Lawrie Park Road
Trains
London Victoria to Penge East
Two trains an hour, journey time about 18 minutes, plus a 15-minute walk to St Christopher’s. Don’t get off the train at Sydenham Hill, stay on to Penge East.
London Bridge to Sydenham
Four trains an hour, journey time about 15 minutes, plus a 10-minute walk.
East Croydon to Penge West
Two trains an hour, journey time about 30 minutes, plus a 10-minute walk.
Overground Train
Overground train every 15 minutes starting from Highbury & Islington, via Canada Water

How to get there
Parking
There is some parking in the Caritas House grounds, including disabled bays. There is also limited free parking in adjoining residential roads. There is a drop off and pick up area directly outside the main entrance. We keep wheelchairs at reception and staff can help you into the building.
Buses
- From Orpington High Street numbers R5, R8, R10, R11 and 358.
- From Orpington station number 654.
Trains
Orpington
Orpington station is a 17-minute walk away.
There are a number of trains every hour to London Charing Cross, Cannon Street or Victoria. Journey time is around 30 minutes.
There are also two trains an hour to both Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks in Kent and two direct trains an hour to Hastings in Sussex.

Unfortunately we do not have any personal parking spaces but parking is available on nearby roads restricted to residents only between 12 and 2pm.

There is easy access from Deptford National Rail station (five minute walk) or Deptford Bridge DLR station (15 minute walk).
