A taster day for the 'I Am A Bridge' training programme

About the event

At St Christopher’s we believe in a world in which all dying people and those close to them have access to care and support, whenever and wherever they need it. However, it can be hard to respond to the holistic needs of people with advancing dementia.

In 2018 Michael Verde of Memory Bridge introduced us to his film ‘Love Is Listening: Dementia Without Loneliness’ and the ‘I Am A Bridge’ training programme.

Michael’s message is challenging, empowering and one worth sharing across the UK. We are therefore offering this fully funded taster day for you to:

  • watch the film ‘Love Is Listening: Dementia Without Loneliness’
  • hear about the ‘I Am A Bridge’ training from people who have attended and those who have witnessed the impact on the lives of people with advancing dementia
  • consider how this training could empower our communities to connect more meaningfully to those with dementia.

How do I apply?

There are a limited number of places available for this fully-funded taster day so early booking is advised. Book for free online now.

How do I find out more about the “I Am A Bridge” training programme?

You may wish to book onto our three day “I Am A Bridge” programme in March for a more in depth exploration of this topical area.

“The ‘I Am A Bridge’ training has opened my eyes and soul to what it feels like to be a part of our human race”

Sandra Deromedi, ‘I Am A Bridge’ participant

More about St Christopher's education

St Christopher’s Education Centre and VAT charges

At St Christopher's, a registered charity, it is important for us to maximise any surpluses to reinvest in the objectives of the charity.

Unfortunately, the manner in which we undertake our training currently means we are not able to invest as much of our surplus as possible, therefore from the 1 December 2017, St Christopher’s Education Centre will charge VAT at the standard rate on our training courses, the reason for this change in pricing is twofold:

i) We want to be able to reinvest any surpluses made from training back into all of our charitable objectives rather than only Education

ii) We want to be able to reclaim the VAT on costs relating to developing and running the training courses
