With two trained teachers and a trained nurse, we reckon the three-strong leadership team we’ve assembled to lead our new education centre is ideally qualified for the job.
Between them, the new Centre Lead, Jenny Fogarty, Senior Educationalist Maaike Vandeweghe and Business Manager Dion Bachmann have decades of experience delivering, designing, enhancing and managing education across three continents and in settings as varied as prison, university and hospital.
Our new Centre Lead Jenny Fogarty has most recently been enhancing public health teaching at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Meanwhile Maaike Vandeweghe, who started life as a nurse in Belgium and then the Caribbean, takes on the role of Senior Educationalist having worked closely with us over the last year to establish our successful education partnership with Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.
The third and final member of the leadership team is Dion Bachmann who has been making his mark here as the Education Business Manager since 2011, having initially trained as a teacher in his native South Africa.
Together, the trio share a vision to ensure that our brand new £6.5m education centre, known as St Christopher’s CARE, due to open this autumn, is a hub enjoyed and admired by professionals and the public here in south London, across the UK and indeed the world.
