With Spring well and truly in the air and Summer on the horizon, we are ready to launch our 2019 Open Gardens Festival, which is kicking off on Friday 10 May at our Orpington site.
From 11am-2pm we will be opening up our wonderful gardens, which are lovingly tended by our Tuesday volunteer gardening group throughout the year, in all weathers maintaining both the garden and vegetable patch.
If you haven’t visited the gardens before they really are a must see. It is a peaceful and calm space for patients and visitors to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The pond is teeming with fish and flower beds are planted at wheelchair height so that they can be enjoyed by all.
Plants will be available for sale and some of the volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about the garden. And did we mention the delicious homemade cakes? There will be plenty of those too, so please do come and join us with your friends and family.
Running from May to September, Open Gardens offers you the chance to experience hidden horticultural delights and explore uniquely designed gardens around south east London. Our calendar this year offers everything from garden safaris, allotments, plant sales and even a garden railway, so there really is something for everyone.
