The Sydenham site
As we deal with the coronavirus pandemic our top priority is your safety. Because of this we are no longer able to arrange outpatient appointments at either of our sites. We will be able to provide support over the telephone and a member of staff will be in touch to arrange this with you.
The following outpatient services have been temporarily suspended at our Sydenham site:
- Nursing and medical care
- Complementary therapies
- Creative arts therapies
- Spiritual care
- Social work and welfare
- Young Adults Group
- Compassionate Neighbours
The Anniversary Centre is a space from which you can access the services you need as easily as possible.
You can find out useful information from our information area, eat in the café or wait for your appointment or group activity.
The centre has a large group of specially trained volunteers who will be able to signpost you and help you with any questions.
You can find out what’s on by taking a look at our Events calendar. For more information about Death Chat, Sunday Lunch, Fabric and Threads, Community Choir and Art for All see our What’s on at St Christopher’s leaflet. Visit our Live Music Events page to find out more about the events or book your tickets.
Regular social activities are open to anyone and include:
Time to Talk
A chat group for previous and current patients, as well as people living in the community with a life-limiting illness. The group meets to share experiences, thoughts and advice about coping at this time. We know talking to with others in similar situations can be helpful.
Tea at Two
A monthly informal bereavement support group
Pilgrim Room Service
A short act of Christian worship, including Holy Communion, is open to everyone and held in the Pilgrim Room, on the first floor of the hospice. All are welcome, whether practising or non-practising Christians and from any faith background.
A 30 minute session using relaxation techniques to help increase calmness and reduce anxiety, stress or anger.
A fantastic opportunity to meet new people, get some fresh air and keep active. You are welcome to turn up for the walk on the day – there is no need to book. The group meet at 1.30pm in the Anniversary Centre before setting off on a walk around the beautiful Crystal Palace Park. The walks will last around 45 – 60 minutes and there will be a choice of routes around the park. Please be aware that longer routes may include steps and slopes. The group will end up back in the Anniversary Centre where you can have a cup of tea in the cafe and give your feet a well-deserved rest!
