Akvile has been a volunteer for the Compassionate Neighbours project and Bereavement Help Point host for four years. During this time, she learned that her lived experiences inform how she relates, works and supports other people, as well as the importance of reciprocal action.

Currently Akvile works to facilitate peer to peer support for bereaved people either in groups or one to one. She is passionate about creating opportunities for people to come together, to share and explore their experiences and find agency and strength in their vulnerability.
