Ann Kenrick
Trustee
Ann has been a volunteer at St Christopher’s since 2022 providing namaste support and running courses for carers as well as contributing as a co-opted member of the Education, Research and End of Life Policy Committee.
Born in Calcutta, Ann has lived locally for over 40 years. She spent thirty years at IBM and leading the Franco-British Council charity alongside actively volunteering to reduce car travel to school in Southwark, as Chair of the London Cycling Campaign and as the author of a book encouraging active school travel for kids for which she was awarded a Southwark Civic Award in 2005.
In 2017 she was appointed as the first female CEO of the Charterhouse, an almshouse in Clerkenwell, and transformed it into a modern progressive charity with a focus on giving residents a ‘good death’ as well as a good life. Subsequently she trained as an End-of-Life Planning facilitator and End of Life Doula and set up the venture, ‘End of Life Matters,’ to support individuals to plan ahead. She is passionate about promoting greater death literacy through community talks, regular local Death Cafes and singing with the Companion Voices choir (at the bedside of the dying).
Ann is a Trustee of the Barbican Centre Trust. She loves parachuting, cold water swimming, cycling, knitting and yoga.
