Professor Caroline Nicholson is a leading clinical academic nurse who champions “Palliative Care for ALL.” She holds a Chair in Palliative Care and Ageing within the School of Health Sciences at the University of Surrey and is a Visiting Professor at St Christopher’s Hospice, London. An NIHR Academy member, her robust research programme focuses on older people with frailty and Multiple Long-Term conditions, person-centred care, integrated care systems and unpaid carers.

Dr Nicholson has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in the field of older people and palliative care. Nationally she works closely with the British Geriatrics Society (BGS) and is co-editor on the BGS guidance on end of life and frailty for clinicians across the multi-disciplinary team. Internationally, she serves as a core member of the European Association for Palliative Care Reference Group on Ageing and Palliative Care.
