Claire Morgan
Claire has been a nurse for 24 years working in both primary and secondary care, with the last 9 years in specialist palliative care. Having recently taken on the role of Clinical Lead for Heart Failure in Palliative and End of Life Care at Dorothy House Hospice, she has established a service that provides patients and their caregivers with the same level of end of life care received by those with cancer. This involves assessing and supporting patients’ psychological, social and physical issues and engaging with complex symptom control issues.
As a practitioner Claire is committed to partnership working. In establishing this service she has embraced the opportunity to develop staff from both within and outside of the hospice and collaborate with cardiology and heart failure teams across a 700 square mile radius.
Claire thrives on embracing challenges and actively seeks out opportunities to grow and make a positive impact on the service that her hospice provides and delivers, to ensure best possible practice.
