Dorinda Moffatt
After supporting a family member with MND, Dorinda trained as a physiotherapist and specialised in palliative care. Having worked for Prospect Hospice in Swindon, Wiltshire for the past 13 years, she feels passionate about making a difference in the quality of life for people experiencing complex and challenging symptoms. Dorinda has developed an audit tool to address cough augmentation for people with MND, quality assured and published in NICE’s shared learning collection. She is an expert reviewer for the MND Association’s health care professional palliative resources.
A regular lecturer on courses including management of breathlessness, excellence in end-of-life care, advanced respiratory care, and frailty. Dorinda is a prize-winning abstract author for implementing and auditing a new neurorespiratory service. She continues to develop her role by gaining masters modules in end-of-life care, frailty, specialist practice in MND and evidencing management of choking for neurological conditions.
