Aruni Wijeratne is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Princess Alice Hospice and Clinical Lead for Palliative Care at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

She has a keen interest in training and education and is the Medical Lead for Education at Princess Alice Hospice. She is on the Specialist Training Committee for palliative medicine in London as co-lead for the North West London sector.

Aruni has a role in educational and clinical supervision of trainee doctors visiting the hospice and is also involved in the European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care as a mentor, examiner and assessor for portfolios. She is involved in transition of care for young adults from children to adult palliative care services and is involved in the Surrey Transition Care group with Shooting Star Chase Hospice.
