Dr Cathy Ellis
Dr Ellis is a Consultant Neurologist at Kings College Hospital, London and Darent Valley Hospital. She was awarded a Ph. During her research, Cathy worked in the MND Care and Research centre at Kings and developed an interest in phenotypic variation in MND and in symptom management.
Following her appointment as a consultant neurologist in 2004, she joined the MND team at Kings as an NHS consultant and co-director of the MND centre. She works across sites at Kings and at Darent Valley hospital, where she also runs an MND service in conjunction with the community neurotherapy team.
Cathy’s interests are in diagnosis and symptom management in MND, promoting equity of care over the wider region. She is principal investigator for the TONIC study at DVH.
She has a strong educational interest, being director of medical education at Darent Valley Hospital, and is keen to promote a wider understanding of MND through education. She has organised and chaired the Kings/St Christopher’s conference with colleagues over many years to bring together people working with MND to share best practice.
