I am currently working as Nurse Consultant in Palliative and End of Life Care for Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust

I have worked as a palliative care nurse for a significant part of my career and my passion to strive to improve this challenging, but rewarding field of nursing has never waned..

I have been lucky to have had the experience of working in different palliative care services spanning NHS acute and community trusts, NHS and Voluntary Hospices in patient and Hospice at Home. This has helped me gain a broad insight into the complexities and challenges that are faced by patients, families and professionals across services and boundaries of care.

I am actively involved in the leadership, management and education of the GSTT palliative and end of life care teams that span the hospital and community settings.  My clinical work is currently predominantly in the community to support patients and families at home who live in the boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.  However, supporting more people to die in their preferred place with the right care at the right time remains a huge challenge. I am committed to the delivery of continued education and learning from our practice so that we continue to enable people to have care that is personalised to their need and to live better, with dignity and the least possible suffering.
