Professor Marie Friedel

Marie Friedel trained as a paediatric nurse and holds an interuniversity Diploma in acute/chronic paediatric pain and paediatric palliative care (Université Claude Bernard, France) and a PhD in public health (UCLouvain, Belgium), which was focused on quality of life in children with life-limiting conditions. 

She worked for several years in a mobile paediatric palliative care team in Belgium and was more than 20 years a Lecturer at the Nursing and Midwifery Department at Haute Ecole Léonard de Vinci in Brussels, Belgium. She also serves as scientific collaborator at the Institute of Health and Society at UCLouvain and is visiting Lecturer at the Université catholique de Lille. Since November 2022, she is full professor in nursing sciences at the University of Luxembourg.

Spouse and mother of 3 young adults, she loves sowing seeds to build bridges between people, countries, and disciplines.
