Nik qualified in medicine from the University of Liverpool and was awarded a PhD by the University of Cambridge.  After Cambridge, he was awarded an Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Fellowship to work at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA. Before founding BioCorteX, Nik was a trustee of the MND Association,  PI at ION/UCL, consultant neurologist at the NHNN, Queen Square, London.
