Richard Cave is a Speech and Language Therapist, and national adviser to Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists for voice banking and MND. He is co-Director of the Centre for Digital Language Inclusion (CDLI) at University College London’s Global Disability Innovation (GDI) Hub. CDLI conducts research and builds automated speech recognition (ASR) technology.

Richard’s PhD focused on the lived experience of people with MND when using ASR technology and how it may help them to be better understood in everyday conversation. Richard worked with the MND Association for seven years focusing on assistive technology and voice banking and a was a consultant to Google Research for four years.
