Sarah Combes

Sarah is a clinical academic nurse specialising in palliative and end of life care.  Sarah is passionate about palliative care and its interface with older age, frailty and multimorbidity, and has particular interests in facilitating informed decision-making, workforce development and service improvement. 

Sarah’s was awarded a prestigious HEE/NIHR Clinical Doctoral Research Fellow which she completed at King’s College London. This enabled her to collaboratively develop a behaviour change intervention to support health and social care professionals to better instigate and support advance care planning with older people living with advancing frailty. Prior to nursing Sarah gained extensive experience as a leader, change manager, and educator in a variety of roles in organisations from small companies to large corporations.

Sarah is currently a  Research Fellow at the University of Surrey, specialising in palliative care and ageing, and continues in her role as an Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist at St Christopher’s Hospice.
