Becoming a QELCA© Satellite Centre

Hospices or specialist palliative care teams are a valuable resource for role modelling quality end of life and it is our assertion that experienced and competent palliative care specialists will have the necessary attitudes and skills to facilitate small group learning using a person-centred approach in much the same way as they would provide support to a family or a patient or carer group.

Having supported other hospice/hospital partnerships both within and outside the UK, it is evident that when the underlying principles of the QELCA© Programme are applied, the positive impact observed in the early stages of the programme’s development, is replicable across other care settings and cultures.

If your organisation would like to become a QELCA© Satellite to deliver the QELCA© Programme externally, please download the QELCA© Satellite flowchart which explains the process.

Each organisation must have two or more registered QELCA© Trainers to become a satellite and to deliver St Christopher’s QELCA© Programme externally.

Satellites will have access to an updated secure microsite with resources and a discussion forum. Organisations will be given promotional material including a copy of the QELCA© film to use to market their QELCA© offer.

If your organisation is interested in becoming a satellite centre to begin or continue delivering the QELCA© Programme externally, please contact Joanna Reynolds-Cook – j.reynolds-cook@stchristophers.org.uk who will send you further details.
