Fabric and Threads is run as part of the St Christopher’s Social Programme of events and is open to everyone; patients, carers, bereaved friends and relatives, staff and volunteers as well as the community.
Fabric and Threads is run by an art therapist. The group offers a supportive environment which enables a safe and confidential space to share feelings around bereavement and loss, as well as offering a lovely way to meet and socialise with new people, relax, get creative and share ideas with others.
No experience is needed to join our Fabric and Threads group; it is a non-judgmental space where you will be welcomed whether you bring expertise or simply enthusiasm! You are also welcome to come along and just sit and watch and enjoy the company.
The mediums experimented with in this group include stitched surfaces using a range of fabrics and a variety of techniques including quilting, felting, silk painting, embroidery knitting and crochet. You can come along and work on your own creative projects in the presence of others or get involved in group work.
Our group meets in the bright and spacious Anniversary Centre at St Christopher’s, 51-59 Lawrie park Road, Sydenham, on Wednesday evenings from 5pm – 7pm.
Throughout the evening a wide selection of refreshments is available to buy from the Anniversary Centre café.
