This Is Hospice Care

We’re proud to be part of the national campaign, This is Hospice Care, led by Hospice UK and supported by more than 140 hospices across the UK

Too often, people think hospice care is only for the final days of life. But it’s so much more than that. It’s about helping people live well until the end, supporting families through difficult times, and offering comfort, dignity and compassion when it’s needed most.

Across the UK, hospices support around 300,000 people every year. That care is only possible thanks to the incredible generosity of local communities.

Most of our funding at St Christopher’s comes from donations, fundraising and gifts in Wills. Without this support, we wouldn’t be able to care for three out of every five people who turn to us

This is Hospice Care brings hospices together with one voice to show the true breadth and value of our work from specialist nursing and medical support, to counselling, bereavement services, creative therapies, community outreach and education.

Hospice care is for everyone who needs it. And it makes an extraordinary difference to people and those close to them.

What we mean by managing pain beyond medicine

"Sometimes that will mean medicine sits in the passenger seat while other supportive types of care take the wheel"

Perhaps the most telling sign of the family’s positive experience of St Christopher’s, is their desire to return regularly.
