Caring for Carers Course

Bereavement group carers talk chat

Would you like to meet other people in the same situation, feel more supported and be better prepared?

A group of middle-aged people sitting, chatting and smiling together in a well lit room.

Join our Caring for Carers programme and become part of a compassionate community dedicated to supporting those who selflessly care for others.

Each session is facilitated by trained volunteers and carers who bring invaluable insights and empathy, drawn from their own lived experiences of caring for someone with a life-limiting or life-shortening condition.

This programme offers a safe and nurturing environment where carers can share their stories, gain practical advice, and find emotional support.

By participating, you’ll connect with others who understand your journey, helping to alleviate the sense of isolation that can often accompany the caregiving role. Together, we strive to empower and uplift each other, ensuring that every carer feels appreciated, understood, and supported.

We’re committed to building a resilient and self-sustaining community of carers and everyone is welcome to join us.

This programme is FREE to attend. Contact e.newman-greaves@stchristophers.org.uk for more information.

Our Carers workshops are designed for current carers that care for those who have life limiting or shortening conditions to share experiences, build confidence and learn new skills.

These sessions are opportunities to explore the challenges of your caring role in a supportive community, and learn from others.

Sessions involve themed discussions on a specific topic to help you better explore and reflect on different aspects of your caring role.

Our workshops are free to attend. If you would like to join simply complete the registration form and we will email you the details for the next session.

We have new dates for new and established carers, see below:

New Carers: Tuesday 23rd July 11am-12:30pm: Networks of support and Carers Experience

Established Carers: Tuesday 30th July 11am-12:30pm: Planning for the future

Established Carers: Tuesday 6th August 11am-12:30pm: Changing relationships

These sessions are 1.5 hour facilitated themed discussions where you will reflect on different aspects of caring or loss through group discussions, sharing experiences, activities/exercises.

These sessions are designed to help you consider your own experiences, what you have learned from them, and to encourage learning from the experiences of others.
