Specialised Occupational Therapist
Location: Sydenham (STCH) & Abbey Wood (GBCH)
Department: Allied Health Professionals
Hours: Full time Monday-Friday, 37.5 Hours a week
3 days based at St Christopher’s Hospice (STCH), 2 days based at Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice (GBCH)
Salary: £ 33,779- £37,890 per annum FTE + HCA
This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to work in two different Hospice settings, both equally committed to offering excellent end of life and palliative care. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the Allied Health Professionals Teams across both hospices and be responsible for providing the provision and delivery of rehabilitative palliative care for patients with life-limiting illness to optimise their independence and make a significant difference to their quality of life. The role will be working 3 days at STCH and 2 days at GBCH.

About Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice opened in 1994 and provides support to people facing death, dying and loss in the two London boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley, a population of just over 500,000 people.
Your new role
You will be an integral part of the Allied Health Professional teams at STCH and GBCH and a key member of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for providing rehabilitation services to palliative care patients including those with cancer, long term neurological and other progressive life-threatening conditions other than cancer.
To succeed in this role
We are looking for someone who is passionate to work as part of both Hospices’ multi-disciplinary teams. You will want to contribute to high quality, goal-focused palliative rehabilitation. You will be passionate about improving care in an end of life setting. You will need to hold a recognized qualification in Occupational therapy and HCPC registration with more than three years clinical experience. This experience would include a range of clinical areas i.e. general medical, oncology, neurology, respiratory, orthopedic, elderly care etc. Experience of working in palliative care is essential and having previously worked in in the community setting, including as a lone worker would be advantageous but not essential.
