Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen within our spirited Support Services team. As one of the Receptionists / Telephonists, you will contribute to ensuring that the telephone system is operated effectively and efficiently, and ensure the smooth running of the telephone ‘hub’, while working closely with all clinical teams, patients and medical professionals for both our Sydenham and Orpington sites. In addition, you will be tasked with receiving all other calls for the Sydenham site, working on the main reception, dealing with patients and visitors to the hospice and co-ordinating transport on a daily basis.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience of working in a health care setting and an understanding of the need to safeguard our vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with patients, families, carer’s, colleagues and other internal and external professionals.
  • Strong administration skills with the ability to keep accurate records.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • A professional and approachable demeanour, with the ability to deal with distressed people sensitively.
  • A willingness to work flexibly, taking on additional shifts when required.
