Volunteering at St Christopher’s

An amazing 1,350 people volunteer at St Christopher's

At St Christopher’s we’re extremely fortunate to have the support of 1,350 dedicated volunteers who generously share their time, skills and expertise across a variety of roles. Without them we wouldn’t be able to do all we do and we wanted to share some of their achievements with you.

Andy

“Andy has administered over £60 million in legacies for the hospice and saved St Christopher’s considerable time and money through sharing his expertise. He even visited a property (bequeathed to us) whilst on holiday – securing us a further £45k when he realised it hadn’t been maintained correctly!”

Alison, Head of Finance

Jackie

“Jackie is a great example of how volunteers can help patients reach their goals. Her patience, energy and enthusiasm gave one patient the ability to achieve one of her greatest wishes of writing a book.”

Alison, Volunteer Co-ordinator

Judy

“Judy is one of our first Compassionate Neighbours and, despite only being in the role a few months, has already forged an incredibly strong friendship with her Community Member. She’s helped her to improve her English, supported her moving house and taken the time to listen. She’s even supported the growth of the project – opening her contact book to spread the word to local sheltered housing schemes.”

Steph, Community Participation Lead
