Rekha is an experienced palliative care nurse, a specialist public health nurse and a nurse prescriber. She has held leadership positions across Primary Care, Community Nursing and Social Care. She led the 0-19 service during the Grenfell fire disaster. Motivated to come into nursing by her own lived experience of inequity in healthcare, Rekha has worked extensively with minoritised and marginalised populations.
She uses a public health lens in palliative care, to empower individuals and communities facing socio-economic deprivation with death literacy and in supporting end-of-life decision making. She is a Mindfulness practitioner and lives with her children, an elderly dog and a zen cat.
